Movie Updates
I am trying to collect some info on all of the movie adaptations of books for all of you who don't want to do the digging yourself. I will try to include links for most of the info I find.
First up, Ender's Game. I have been really excited as I have found out more and more of the cast. The casting is absolutely amazing, and Harrison Ford being in another movie about space is just music to my ears, to be honest. Unfortunately, I recently found out from an interview with Orson Scott Card that the movie will not exactly be a replica of the book. In fact, he says that very few scenes in the movie are from the book. Click Here for more info.
Next: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters. This will be the second movie in the Percy Jackson movie enterprise. For anyone who read the first book and saw the movie, I can pretty much guarantee you weren't impressed. But based on casting, it looks like this movie might be getting closer to the actual storyline. I actually giggled with joy when I saw Nathan Fillion's name. Check out the cast and make a decision for yourself: Click Here for the IMDB page.
Beautiful Creatues change: The previous casting choice I told you about for the lead, Ethan Wate, has been recast. The part will now be played by Alden Ehrenreich. I don't love him for the part, but you can check him out yourself on IMDB. For that, Click Here. Also, for a clip from the beginning of the movie, with Ethan and Lena, can be found when you Click Here.
Ok, now for the news I am absolutely furious about. The next Chronicles of Narnia movie to be released will be The Magician's Nephew. That's right, faithful C.S. Lewis readers, they are skipping 2 entire books. The main reason? The last 2 movies have done so poorly that Walden Media has decided that as Magician's Nephew is the second most popular book, it will make the most money and should therefor be the next movie in the lineup. As a Narnia fantic from a young age, I am not happy. NOT HAPPY. For the official release Click Here.
I don't know if this is official, but I have read in a few different movie releases, that Jeff Bridges has been cast in the role of The Giver for the movie of the same title. I adore this book, and I am actually pretty happy with the decision, if it is a real one. NO promises yet, but I'll keep you posted.
And for my final update to give you, I don't know if you had heard, but Mockingjay, book 3 in the Hunger Games series, will be split into parts Harry Potter-style. I can't decide if I am excited about this or not. On one hand, they will be able to put so much more into the movie. I love it when they can do that. On the other hand, it means I have to wait until 2015 until I can see the final movie in the series! Ah! Marty McFly will have already come and gone in time for the Mockingjay part 2 Thanksgiving release. For other Pros and Cons on this, Click Here.
Hope everyone will be happy to have more info on the movies to be made from out favorite books. Let me know if you have found out juicy details that I am oblivious to! It would be nice to know all I can. Check back frequently for more news!

So Many Announcements
So much stuff to announce quickly! First of all, Veronica Roth is doing a giveaway for ARCs of Insurgent, book 2 in the Divergent series (which I reviewed back in February). For more info on this awesome giveaway, plus a countdown clock to the final release of Insurgent, Click Here.
Next, for fellow residents of Utah, Shannon Hale will be signing books near Salt Lake City this Saturday. For exact time and place, Click Here. This will also have info listed on future signing dates in other states. Not many left, so see if you can get a chance to meet her before her release of Palace of Stone at the end of this summer.
Maggie Stiefvater, who wrote The Wolves of Mercy Falls (Shiver, Linger, and Forever) books, The Scorpio Races and much more, has released that she is working on a collaboration with Brenna Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton called The Curiosities: A Collection of Stories. According to Goodreads, that is expected to be released in October of this year. I'll add that to the coming soon section, and hopefully keep you updated.
James Dashner is hard at work on a new website which he has promised us fans will adore. You know what I would adore? A release date for The 13th Reality: The Void of Mist and Thunder! OK, daily rant about The 13th Reality... check!
Somehow I missed the release of The Savage Grace by Bree Despain on March 13th. Really sorry about that everyone! In my defense, life has been crazy. I know, not a great defense. But please, go pick this book up! The first one was really good and I'm going down to my nearest bookstore as soon as I can to buy books 2 and 3. Bree Despain is awesome, I got to hear her give a "keynote address" at the writers conference I went to over the summer and I loved her. It's so fun when you get to meet authors and you find out that they are totally cool.
Although Jessica Day George has no upcoming events listed on her blog, I found out on Goodreads that her new book, Princess of the Silver Woods (book 3 in her Princess series) should be coming out November of this year. Hoping for more info on that plus tour dates! Last time I met her, I didn't have any books for her to sign! I want copies of the Dragon Slippers books signed!
Phew! OK, I think that is everything! I know this is a lot, but hopefully I will be going back to a light load of announcements for a while. If there is anything that I left out, please let me know.
